Platinum Green Travel Mark Award 2017

Our Headteacher, Wendy Robinson, and our Pastoral & Wellbeing Manager, Tracy Gooding, recently attended a certificate presentation at Leeds Castle to receive the Platinum Green Travel Mark Award 2017.

Thank you and congratulations to the families and children who contributed to this award by walking, cycling or scooting to school instead of travelling by car.

Georgie from Redwings had the winning design

Talented Georgie has had her art work seen by thousands of Tesco customers after winning a drawing competition organised by Tesco.

Archbishop Courtenay Primary School encouraged and gave their pupils time to create and design entries on the theme ‘I love Maidstone Tovil’.

The design was put onto several thousand hessian bags and distributed at the local store and school. As well as this, Georgie won a voucher for herself and a £500 voucher for the school. This has been used to buy two beautiful bench tables for the playground, one with a road and farm scene printed on the top and the other with Ludo boards.

A great addition to the outside play area all thanks to Georgie!

WOW Walk on Wednesday

Here are our lovely Anthony and Georgina collecting the award for Heron’s class at the beautiful Leeds castle.

Primary schools across the county have shown their commitment to green travel by taking part in a KM Walk to School Summer Challenge event.

KM Walk to School champions celebrate success with key partners at the Summer Challenge Day event staged at Leeds Castle

Children walked, cycled, scooted and ‘parked and strode’ to the school gates on the challenge day, and the schools with the largest participation were rewarded at a special presentation event at Leeds Castle.
